West Knoxville Psychiatry is a privately owned mental health practice by Amanda Albertsen, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, whom is supervised by Dr. John Kupfner here in the heart of Farragut, TN. Services provided are the diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues primarily using medication management with some brief solution-focused therapy tools when indicated for individuals 18 years of age and older. Telehealth appointments are available in most cases upon request after initial intake appointments.
West Knoxville Psychiatry is an outpatient psychiatric office and does not provide crisis or detox services. If you or someone you know are experiencing suicidal thoughts or other mental health crisis, immediately call 911 or go to your nearest Emergency Department.
We offer a range of medications, but have strict policies and protocols in place regarding our prescribing of controlled substances when indicated.
We do not prescribe MAT (Suboxone) or provide detoxification services.
Telehealth appointments are available in most cases upon request after initial intake appointments. In-person appointments are still required twice yearly to update necessary paperwork.

No, we do not conduct forensic, child custody, disability, employment determination/Worker's Comp, or capacity/conservatorship evaluations.
We will gladly print a superbill (receipt) for you to submit to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement, but at this time we do not contract with any insurance companies. Our fees for initial intake services with medication management are $275 and established patient follow-up appointments for medication management are $150.
