West Knoxville Psychiatry is a privately owned mental health practice by Amanda Albertsen, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, whom is supervised by Dr. John Kupfner in the care of Tennessee patients here in the heart of Farragut, TN located in West Knoxville. Services provided are the diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues primarily using medication management with some brief solution-focused therapy tools when indicated for individuals 18 years of age and older. In-person appointments are available for Knoxville area residents. Telehealth appointments are available across the states of Tennessee and Kentucky.
West Knoxville Psychiatry is an outpatient psychiatric office and does not provide crisis or detox services. We do offer naltrexone, an effective evidence-based treatment for relapse prevention in alcohol and opioid use disorders after patients have completed acute detoxification treatment. If you or someone you know are experiencing suicidal thoughts or other mental health crisis, immediately call 911 or go to your nearest Emergency Department. You are not alone and are worthy of a better tomorrow!
YES! Telehealth appointments are available. Although, I always prefer to meet in-person for your first appointment if you're local, virtual appointments are offered through a secure, user-friendly, HIPAA-compliant audio-visual platform.
Our fees for new patient initial intake services with medication management are $275; established patient follow-up appointments for medication management are $150. We believe in rendering a quality of care that is simply not possible in today's current insurance-driven mental health settings and this is a core, guiding principle for our practice. *As a courtesy, we will gladly print a Superbill (insurance speak for a receipt with insurance billing code and diagnosis code) for you to submit to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement consideration.
We offer a range of medications, but have strict policies and protocols in place regarding our prescribing of controlled substances when indicated.
We do not prescribe MAT (Suboxone) or provide detoxification services.
